New or salvaged OK. Mine burst in an overheat, thermostat u/s, now fixed. Did a pipe repair with copper pipe which is holding but heater doesn't work, presumably because bore is to small. Would like to get fixed before the winter! Fiat don't seem to supply this part anymore, third party versions show on European sites but haven't been able to source or find a wrecked Seicento.

The Polish sites -- Unto.pl -- etc. are probably showing the OE version. After all, that's where the car comes from, and many of the parts are/were made or initially directed, to Poland.

Still, give Big Mick a ring at eurocarcare.net.

Don't rule out the possibility that the heater may need bleeding (with the heater full on -- Sei has a cock type heater), ot the cock or heater matrix may be blocked/clogged/seized.

I have ordered it from unto.pl (thanks for the tip fingers99), seems to have got the last one in Poland! What's the significance of a 'cock' type heater - is it a functional or emotive description?

Basically, there are two different ways of making a heater (basically just a small radiator) transfer heat to the incoming air. You either use flaps (to effectively prevent or control the amount of air coming through) like the Cinq and (at least) the Mk1 Panda or you use a cock (a bit like a tap) to control the amount of water getting through (Sei, Mk2 MR2, etc.).

The only problem with the cock type system is that unless you have it fully on when you bleed the cooling system, you're likely to get a great big air bubble (which may turn into an air lock).

Pipe arrived from unto and was fitted but heater didn't work well, did also have to replace the matrix (you were right again fingers99!) - so now nice and warm and just in time too - thanks to the forum!
