Just putting the feelers out if I wanted abit more power but didnt want loud exhausts ive seen bigger throttle bodys ect os this an easy exchange and is it worth it bigger cam I want to keep the look a stock as poss

Quite a few easier options with spi:

- Panel filter
- Kritch Chip
- Bored out TB (From sparky5 )
- Uno Inlet
- 866 cam or something better

For the most power/least cost you can fit a P60 engine or just a 1.2 block.

That's off the top of my head, someone who knows more about spi upgrades will be along shortly....

Where is your neck of the woods?

The 1.2 16v swap is more involved and expensive but will be faster than a standard 1.2 8v swap. It really depends on your budget and what you want from it?

I wont rule it out I would like to tamper with the standard motor ive pm mcCritch just waiting for a reply and maybe anew cam and panel filter unless someone knows better ideas cheers fingers

not many people do a P60 conversion these days - it does result in a much nicer car, just not a really fast one. It is the extra low down torque that makes a huge difference around town and also you don't have to change down a gear hardly ever on motorway etc. I think there should be more 1242 8v cinqs out there myself.

But you can do all the regular tuning to what you already have, cams, head work etc etc. You can after all that fit a 1242 bottom end to it and not lose any of the stuff you have done.

I think the 1.1 engines are underrated. They are lighter than the 1.2 so there are a fair few Kg's advantage there. Performance exhaust manifolds are easier to get and these do make a difference with engine characteristics.
