I posted this in the wrong section at first. Dont know how to move a thread.

Hi all. Im in desperate need of a*ecu*and most likely key set. The current one was opened up by a friend of mine. Now it cant be put back together "long story" I have called about 20 2nd hand suppliers. Breakers etc.*Fiat*will help by importing one new at 5600 they say. And they are not sure if it has ignition set so most likely reprogramming involved. I dont have that type of cash flow right now and she is just standing around waiting to be driven. Very upsetting. Please someone assist me. Would be greatly appreciative

Hi Fingers99

Im assuming its the Mpi. (multi port injection Correct?)
there are injectors per cylinder yes.

The ecu was opened by a friend and is not serviceable, which i found out by abit of research, now its in 3 pieces and cant be put back together, it was faulty as i was getting terrible misfire and flat spots, when troubleshooting everything else was fine, compression, spark, coils, leads etc.

so my only option now is to get a replacement.,

I cant seem to find the differences between the punto mk2 engine and my seicento (2001)
would a ecu from the punto be a viable option. i found a breaker that has lots of these guys. feeling positive...

There are lots of versions within the MF59 range but you have to get one with the same model and hardware number. Example. IAW 59F. M1/HW024/3804-663
No second hand ones will work unless virginised to lock with your code reader. You can get one supplied from a few companies or get a complete lockset/Ecu/Codebox package second hand from scrapyards, ebay etc.
May be of some interest? http://www.cento-world.de/iaw-59f-und-5af-steuergeraete-faq-mpi-infos-und-reparatur-t22844.html

Yes that is the plan. Get the ignition and code box as well. Today I made a few calls to the scrapyards and breakers. They charging 5000 or thereabouts rand. Oh. Im in south africa by the way.thats quite big cash for me at the moment. Ouch. Got to keep trying. Thanks for all the info guys
