Ive just entered my first trial in a couple of weeks with a multi venue grass and tarmac autotest a couple of weeks after that.
I am thinking of fitting a simple aluminium sump guard - had anybody else done this? I dont need a full rally spec job, just something to stop the odd bump scraping the sump - any ideas or pics greatly appreciated

I think I've seen pics of them on some of the Polski cars, too.

It's something I've considered, but there aren't many suitable mounting places for them, I'm not sure what the accepted general consensus on how to make and fit one is. My opinion would be to come off the lower wishbone mounts with a couple of crossbars and then run a frame or a thick bit of duralumin forwards from there. I did wonder if it'd be possible to mount something from the two upright sections behind the corners of the front bumper. The reason I didn't do that was that should the car land heavily on it I suspect it'd cause more damage than it'd prevent.
