Hi all,
This will probably sound pretty simple to most of you guys but if you don't ask you don't get
I'm after some general Air filter info such as what A and B are on this pic
I've been reading on forums about a hot air intake and the such like but I don't even know if I have one or what
My car is a 2004 seicento sporting

A is clearly the air filter box or whatever it's called, what sort of filter does it use and how does one change the filter element itself,

Is it worth getting a filter than can be ducted down into the right hand corner of the engine bay where I assume the air would be cooler? Or removing pipe B if it's a hot air intake?

Sorry about the numerous questions but you guys are certainly the most helpful forum there is

Cheers Jack

To change the filter, just undo the cross head screws. 10 I think -- there's a clip at the front, too. Pull the top off, pop in a new filter.

It's just a big round paper air filter -- The one for the earlier cars and the 899s is very different. Most decent factors will be able to get you the right one bt registration number or VIN.

On the MPI cars, like yours, I don't think there is a warm air feed (and most folk bin them on the earlier SPI cars, anyway).

Even my little old 899 Cinq starts and runs fine on even the coldest days, and that included our -20degC mornings a while ago.
I don't have a warm air feed (the flap was broken so I removed it and blanked off).

As you say, that pic doesn't have a warm air feed. Not needed at all on an MPI design.
