Hello guys

I have a 1998 spi Seicento that I'm converting to a 1.2 16v 1998 punto engine does anyone knows if in the 1.4 conversion guide i need to unlock fiat punto ecu to run.

Can I put the punto immobilizer in the cento and run with it?

Thanks mates :)

cheers

The easiest way is to get a mk1 punto 16v ecu, code box (immobiliser) and key. (what i did)

You "can" use the cento code box if you get the ecu virginised/decoded. I belueve you can also get the ecu coded to your code box so you keep the immobiliser, but most people just blank it and disable it if they go down that route.

The whole idea of a "virginised" ECU is that it codes itself with the first immo box it sees connected (or stays virgin if there is no immo box).

:yeahthat: If you get the ecu virginised it will code to your key when you first use it.

You can also get the immobiliser completely removed by someone - reddy4bed on here does that for a small charge, postage might be expensive from Portugal though...

What i did was get a matching ecu, key & codebox. The antenna is removed from the ignition barrel and has the matching key taped to it and its up behind the stereo part of the dash, i use my original key for the ignition. So my car technically doesn't really have an immobiliser but if i want i can get the key from behind the stereo and it is then immobilsed (i have never felt the need to do this mind)

hi guys
Thank you for your help this is why :worship: I Love Fiat Forum :p I decided to buy the ECU de Immo and key locks from a punto sport 1998 just for 20£.

Maybe next week I would start the conversion :) I will put here a thread for you to see and give your opinios :)

Cheers mates ;)
