Hello guys,i have a 1.2 8V Seicento Project running and i want to know if the 1.4 8V 77hp engine block from Grande Punto, can match up with the 1.2 8V head from Punto 75 1.2 8V.

Does it worth ???

Reply to me asap.

Thank you!

The 1242 8v GP block has dished pistons and the 1.4 engine most likely the same. Looking at the head and piston design, I would say that fitting an old type head, even with an MLS gasket, would lower the compression ratio below the normal use.
It could be ok for a low boost turbo though?
If you skim too much off the head to compensate, then the valve timing will be out too much and would need a vernier cam pulley. NUGGY has experimented more with this, but the end results are yet to be seen on how it runs.

Hello my friend and thanks for the info!I will not fit the 1.4 8V block. You can check my car project here and see that we made a Custom Adjustable Vernier Pulley by T16 aluminium. :

What about low compression turbo?Like using the pistons off the 1.2 16V???Tell me exactly what i will need for that!

hi guys its been a while i've had my 1.4 running with the p75 head and mls head gasket and a compression test showed 200psi (but my engineer said the head cannot be skimmed again, previous owners must have skimmed it before) it uses the grande punto bottom crank pulley, 2004 1.2 punto cam pulley and water pump, also where the alternator bolts on i ground the block round to allow the alternator to swing round more giving clearance between drive belt and engine mount, i' currently having diff trouble at the moment, but the compression sound higher than the old 1.2 setup it does bark a little, hoping to get more time to finnish it off in next month fingers crossed

So,you have problems as i see.My 1.2 8V engine from Punto 75 now has a 11:1 Compression Ratio. It is totaly rebuilded and highly tuned and i'm around 95Hp with 282 degrees camshaft, custom adjustable vernier pulley with knock sensor,40mm Tb,skimmed engine block and head, ported head,4-1 custom headers and many many more...i raced a 1.4 16V Sei and he lost the 400m run...i would like to use the 1.4 8V block in the near future...but you say that there are problems...please have as informed!!!

my origional 1.2 p75 had 175 psi and ran a 9.25:1 compression so it is a bit higher, my mates car ran 200psi that was 11:1 compression, if mine is too high i will swap to a standard head gasket which will bring it down but the 1.4 grande punto runs 11.5:1 obviously with fuel and ignition changes, so the bottom end is tough enough to take it + i'm running stainless manifold and system a 46mm tb a ported head and modified chip so it should go ok
