In my house!
righty, funds not as good as thought so may just have to go for lowering springs on their own, but ive thought bout getting jamex springs instead of just the gmax cus ive heard they do eventually go soft so the shockers are needed to sort this!

the jamex ones ive seen are on fastfiat.com and i spoke to one guy there who said i shud be ok lowering to 40mm drop on standard shocks for mileage of my car (23,000mls), but i wanted some ppls advice and opinion on jamex and their quality and will i be ok using my standard shockers for a decent length of time?

I dont really drive that hard and take it round corners stupidly quick and only encounter the odd speed bump now and then! so will i be ok with just springs and cutting bumpstops in half like gaz-wrexham did?

righty, here we go again, instead of doing work ive been searching the web, i can ge set of 30mm eibach springs for my sei for £174 or a set of 40mm jamex for £75........which shud i go for? not fussed bout ultimate bad boy racer quality handling, just want looks and comfort but less chance of shagging standard shockers!! if that possible???

i remember reading that with 30mm drop you dont need to cut bumpstops but the springs will settle further down in time :D so eibachs will end up bout 40mm after few weeks unlike jamex 40mm which will prob end up 50mm

but which of these two will give me the longer lasting firmer ride if you know wot i mean??

where is best place to get decent range of lowering springs from eibach who wont take the p~ss on delivery and price etc. is 35mm a noticeable drop? and how is the general handling of the car? did you have to cut bumstops?

Mine were already on the car when I fitted them.. but the handling is def better....

Not sure when the best place is will have a look about..
there's all th usual

needforspeed
demontweeks
performancedriven
potn

umm loads more just off the top of my head...

Not used for Eibach but always very quick with everything else and courteous and informative if there is a delay. They phoned me to say my Megnecor leads would take a week as they were being made not the 3 days they had hoped for, service for me can outway saving a few pounds.

Aaron.

PS they also do H & R springs which are listed as a 35mm drop and not as expensive as Eibach but just as good.

That's mine on Eibach's... Will get a sideshot if u want...

im so confused tho cus spoke to eibach and their 35mm drop springs will only lower my car by bout 10mm cus its sporting and already lower as standard :(

i just want someone to sell me some good quality lowering springs that will drop me 35-40mm from what iam at minute

on fastfiat they got jamex 40mm and 55mm drop, but working on principle ive been tod, my car already 20mm lower as standard, so shud i subtract 20mm from each i.e. 40mm-20mm=20mm lowering and 55mm-20mm=35mm lowering??

Im confused tho cus they advertise these springs to lower this amount and are "suitable for sporting"!

ok, if you could that wud be great, been looking on advice at needforspeed.com and they got nice set of spax springs to lower by 30mm for the sporting apparently but i know spax supposed to be good and settle little lower than other springs, are they any good cus they got set of pi springs too but they lower by 35mm but not really had any views on pi yet?

dude, dont get caught up on other people advice, when it comes down to it, 99 people could say they love a product, and you could hate it when u get it! and vice versa.

spax
apex
g-max
eibach
jemex

all been around for ages and have good reps in the world of lowering springs.

and as for things gettin confusing..... if they are advertised for a sporting then they should lower a sporting about that ammount, give or take 1cm and giving time for proper settling, and remembering u are on standard dampers.

if u want 30-40mm of drop, then 40mm sporting springs will get u close to that.

to be honest i am not even sure there will be a difference between the springs for the sporting and the sx/s however i do think that cause the sporting is 10mm lower from the factory personally i think most companies do not take things like this into account, so your 40mm springs will prob only lower about 30-35mm.

this is all from personal experience so not fact!

any help?

if u are lookin at these 2 options, i would go for the spax....

www.motorsportworld.co.uk do 40mm spax springs for the cinquecento and 30mm for the seicento.

by the way, all cinq and sei suspension is the same, so you can fit springs for the cinq on your sei and not bat an eyelid! (y)

of course the lower u go, the more strain u put on your shocks and therefore the less time they last in perfect condition!

its a help, but with what you say bout companies not taking into account ive emailed them all to ask. but if a sporting 30mm sapx spring is wrong then ill only get 20-25mm of lowering which isnt really worth it! the most id like is 35-40mm so if the spax 40mm ones dont take standard lowering into account then ill get bout 30-35mm which is what id like!

i guess id best just wait to see what the companies say bout the sporting springs and if they lower what stated!

but it looks like cinq sporting 40mm drop springs are the way forward! are you sure there is no problem with fitment from a cinq to a sei? mine is a 51 mpi sei tho, will this make a diff?

forgot to say, what you running on yours lowering amount wise? urs is a sporting isnt it?

if u are goin spax springs, remember they settle more than expectes, ghost, arc, and ian are all running those 40mm springs and have got close to, if not over 60mm worth of drop within a few months!

example of what i mean about sporting / sx springs.

i bought a set of 40mm ones for a sporting, and after a few months they had dropped about 30mm, so sold them to a guy with a sx, and his dropped close to 40mm, then i bought some 55m springs, and they have only settled to 45mm at the very very most! so i am lookin at gettin some spax ones and seeing how low they go, cause i want 60mm at the least.

very very confusing i know! pain in the ass.

if u want a tru 40mm drop and are goin for springs alone, personally i would reccomend g-max, spax, or apex! (y)

and as far as i am aware all sei and cinq suspension is interchangable! i am sure somone will correct me if i am wrong.
