Been to fiat today to get a new speedo sensor as I believe mine has failed, power steering flicking on and off with the speedo, that no longer works at all now, cost £54 :O

Been looking for a sunroof that hasn't rusted for ages now but have found nothing, anybody have any solutions as a replacement from fiat is £600 :O

Whilst I was troubleshooting the power steering problem checking all the cables for any problems, found a spare plug behind the trim next to the driver side door anyone know what its for?

Thanks in advance

Could well be nothing more than a dodgy connection.

If the power steering is playing up, but the speedo isn't, consider hurling it in the bin (disconnect -- or fit a non-PAS column and fit Cinq strut top mounts).

No idea what the connector is. Pics? Decent location and wiring diagrams in the Seicento Technical Manual in the Downloads section.

I've yet to see a rusty Sei sunroof. Must be scores in scrappies. eBay breakers?

The speedo is playing up with the power steering. so I suspect the speedo sensor. still waiting for fiat to call to say they have it. hoping this will fix it.

Have been searching eBay but all seem to have some rust.

will give it a go and see if it works (fingers crossed), from reading other threads I checked the gearbox oil and its completely brimmed.
pm's sent to them, will see what they come back with.
Thanks again.

Had my power steering flicking on & off recently turned out the battery just needed charging, car started normally & everything else seemed OK.
It's worth checking, might save you spending a fortune at the garage.

I know my battery has a cell out as doesn't hold a complete charge; going flat if started and not left running a couple of times in a row, only 2 years old as well. Might have to dip in to the body work tin and get a new battery :(

BTW that connector is D44. It's the lead for your electric webasto full length sunroof.... but of course this won't work with your fooked battery.
You could always put fuses in F11/F12 & use the cable to power a rotisserie, ejector seat, or whatever floats your boat!

PS: Have you contacted Jiminiwatford for a replacement sunroof, he's probably got hundreds.

Cool, at least I know what its for now. I asked James and he said that he usually has loads in but the only one he has at the moment is rusty so said to ask again in a week. Will get a new battery

Update.
Speedo censor fitted, managed to do it from the top sticking the spanner in between the flexi pipe and heat shield, absolute pain to do but managed in the end.
Got a new Lucas battery so no worries about going flat anymore also gave the battery tray a coating of Vaseline to give it some protection for the future.
Changed the sun roof over and now looks sooo much better, striped it down and gave everything a clean and Vaseline up all the rubbers, also gave the channels under the sunroof a coating of polish, so thanks to cento painter for supplying the sunroof, very pleased with it :)

Wouldn't have thought that Vaseline would do anything, should just keep it supple

One of the reasons vaseline is no longer recommended as a lubricant during sex is that it destroys condoms.

Your car probably won't get pregnant or contract an STD, but the effect of conventional greases on rubber is one reason why tyre fitters don't use it and why you use a silicone or rubber grease when rebuilding brake calipers.

ok so it used to be seen as ok but now no longer is, I know this now for the future, just something that has change from when my dad used to work on his triumphs.
