I have a problem with my gearbox. It decided to **** all it's oil out just as the mot ran out. The leak is between the bell housing and the main gearbox casing.

I can't get it inside so it's on the street.

My question is has anyone split the gearbox on the car, I just need to reseal the two. But don't fancy taking the box out to do it, or can anyone envisage a problem with doing it?

Your car is an 899 isn't it?

Are you sure the inner CV boot hasn't split? Notoriously, they are wet shaft boxes. so no CV boot, no fluid.
