a bit tricky ? its easy fella , if you have a set of ramps you can do it ,, i can do it on a jack its two 13mm bolts and a 17 iirc and thats all you need :)

Heard all this before and believe me, I only make things worse.

I can't get my 4x4 panda to climb the ramps, got no chance with little cinqy.

excuse #3 I used to have a 17 spanner but haven't seen it since 1994.

Of course if someone wants to prove how easy it is to do by showing me they will be more than welcome ;)

mate if i was still living in york i would have been in my car already - it really is easy as you like. Infact any of the gearbox mounts and engine mount are super duper easy..

No doubt with the right tools and a body small enough fo fit under the car!

I'll get it on the ramps at the garage to confirm tomorrow and get a quote, I see parts world are selling genuine ones for £25!

My flexible friend may have to bend a bit to accomodate my lack of under-car mobility:eek:

well don't pay much if you get them to change it. In a garage with a lift we are literally talking 10-15mins tops for the whole job.

Had it on the ramps 1st thing and it was all lopsided making the exhaust touch the brace.

Should be very cheap as I will have to supply the part, their motor factors don't stock them.

Now do I go for genuine fiat ones from partsworld or a random half the price aftermarket jobbie?

And should I get the other mounts changed out too?

i would just get them from ECC if i were you, they will come fast too..

both of them, the engine mount rarely goes so don't worry about that one. Look in members offers section for discount code

#

so I need to buy two mounts as in the link?

where's the other one located? Didn't look for two when the car was ramped!

It's hard to say without looking at it, but most likely you'll need the rear one (left on the ecc page), the other one doesn't go THAT often in comparison but of course it's still desirable to change it.

The right one goes from a bracket on the inner wing, to a hanger that bolts onto the front of the gearbox.

about to order the mounts, want to add a couple of anti roll bar bushes to the order as they are perished and it will bump the order up into the next discount tier.
They have two sizes, which one do I need?

Meh, I can live with the odd rattle and clonk, passed it's mot so bogger it.

It's become a bit tiresome so I've ordered the rear mount from euro crap arts for £11 delivered.

The battery lights staying on all the time, I'll put fizzles battery on him and see if it goes out.
The alternator was reconditioned last year so hopefully that's it.

Once that's all sorted, the duff alloy changed and new pirelli's on it will be time for an oil change!

Yup, needs tested with a multimeter to check charge rate. Engine off (battery level), Engine on and again with everything you can find to turn on running.

Normally battery light signals a weak charge and the battery draining faster than it's charging. Though check the connection to the alternator, i found mine was doing that on and off and it was just the terminal loose (probably from when my rear mount went bang and the engine was swinging back and forth, the wire was getting wiggled more, so given your mount seems gone, defo worth a quick check considering it's free and only takes a few seconds!)

you got a multimeter??

Yep but not one got a battery setting :(

I'll have a look at the wiring tomorrow (y)
