Hi all

Just had my pump and belt changed as the pump was leaking badly.
Before the car had just had a new thermostat and ran at 80 pretty much all the time. Especially when I do 70 on motorway.

I've just done the first motorway journey since fitting and I had to put the blower and heater on full and drive at 60 and the temp was hitting 100!

I think the belt is also a little too tight as I can hear it quite badly.

I'm taking it back tomorrow and see what they can do.

But before then anyone have any ideas?
Cheers
Adam

if your blower dosnt blow "hot" then go cold you have a air lock , Give it a Bleed

with the engine running and the blowers on (way i do it) open the little valve behind your drivers side head light WATCH tha water will be warm so do not burn your self ,

Water will start coming out , watch for bubbles ( that will be the air in your system )

Why do you think your belt is to tight , a way to check if the belt is to tight find the longest egde of the belt between pullys ( and if you can twist it less than 90 Deg its to tight

It's a cinq sporting 1.1.

Hot air coming though heater. I bled a little air out today but still getting too hot

I couldn't twist the belt at all. Bad sound coming from the new water pump.

agreed, over tensioned belt. Sounds like it has possibly killed the water pump already if its making nasty noises - i would replace it again to be safe.

Possibly also a dodgy thermostat, seems to be so many bad ones floating about these days - be wary of unbranded white boxed thermostats, buy genuine one from fiat is safest bet.
