Hi,

Took a punt on an ebay sale for my daughter and she now has a basic 02 Seicento with all the ususal stone chips and marks that never show up on the photo, but never mind it all seems to work, (apart from the handbrake, but thats an ongoing issue). Oh yes and only one key!

With my daughter's Polo I went to a scrapyard and upgraded her rear seats to those with head restraints. A very cheap and satisfying upgrade to do.

Can you guys tell me if the same is possible with the seicento. Does it come in a better trim version were I can just lift out the seat back and easily swap them?

Your expertise would be much appreciated

Ta

I thought all mpi seicentos (~2001 onwards) had rear head restraints but evidently that isn't the case.

Keep an eye out for the late model sportings/abarths/schumachers as they will have rear headrests, personally I would take the front seats too so they all match, plus the sporting seats are more comfortable :)

Thanks for that........do you think that all years/variants will have universal fittings to the bodywork/chassis?

The basic MPI S model didnt come with headrests which it appears is what the OP has bought for daughter

You dont need to look for a sporting/abarth/schumi interior exclusively - In MPI form an SX interior is exactly the same (rear headrests present and colours same) barring an abarth logo stitched on the headrests of an abarth or schumi model

If you want an SPI interior you will need to look at sportings and abarth models only

It will be a straight swap if you get an MPI interior, not if you get an SPI interior as you will need to remove the bracket that enables the rear bench to split fold (not present in SPI models)

Not sure what you mean with regards to fittings/chassis etc - there are differences between the models and years depending on what you are planning/thinking

If you want to stick with the better split-folding rear seats as found on the MPI cars then the S model (Eclipse Blue cloth) did have rear headrests as an option.... so they are out there somewhere! -it's just a question of searching scrappies/fleabay etc or maybe someone on here will swap their rear seat section with yours as most people want to ditch their rear headrests.
The SX model had headrests as standard but they were in Oxford Blue cloth so you would need to swap over the entire interior. If you're going to do that you might as well go for the Sporting/Abarth/Shumi interior in Squash Grey cloth with the slightly better front seats.

Thanks for that fellas. I am a newbie here, (more a regular of the Volvo forum). Its gonna be obvious when you tell me but MPI SPI?
