There is a adjustable Cam Wheel on the market but i want to make one by myself / friend of mine.

Does it give a lot of improvement to the engine?
And what should I do, Timing Later of earlier. Need Highend BHP.

All info is welcome.

Something like this:

Theres a Vernier pulley available for the FIRE 1108/1242?

Who makes them? What cost?

I know nothing about making vernier pulleys and Id advise to buy one tbh...

BUT, I understand the best / easiest way to advance / retard the timing is to slot the holes in the alternator pulley (the TDC sensor takes its signal from that) and file off the locating pin (but make sure you put on some form of alignment mark otherwise the bugger wont work!)..

Yes there is a vernier available for the fire engine. Speak to Avanti.

A vernier is simply a can wheel in two parts, inner and outer, allowing the cam to be timed more acurately than moving it one tooth at a time.

You can get the cam close by the rough adjustment, the vernier works only through an arc of just less than a tooth.

That is for timing the cam.

Changing the ignition timing can be done by playing with the position of the crank sensor, but it doesn't change the cam timing.

Cheers
