I am considering the biggest sin of all at the minute! Selling up! I keep looking at early 80s cars! So many nice ones to tempt me! Please someone help me see the light of staying with the little fiat!! I am just thinking of how much money I will put into making it perfect I thought wot could I have got instead!! There is my issue! So help me stay true to the fiat! (y)

well anything you buy you will end up piling cash into really, particularly if you getting older cars - just the way it goes. Ultimately follow your heart on these things is my advice but I would suggest that the fact your even asking us our opinion points towards the fact you want us to tell you to behave and you would like to see this little car finished - safe in the knowledge that if you then let it go it will have much greater chance of being loved and looked after for many more years to come. Sadly not the destiny of most cinqs.

Thanks blu73 you are very wise! Yes an old car even if seems close to mint will have hidden problems and I do really love the little chinq and I have heavily invested in it already! I shall not keep looking at the classic car adds!! (y)

Get it finished first! Once you start driving it, you won't want to sell it ;)

Also, once it's done, the abarth kit makes it all the more desirable.

Thanks razman again you are spot on ! I do really want to see the abarth kit on!and I haven't had a good drive in it for to long! Shall have a blast in it when there is a good wether day and will feel 're invigorated to press on with it! (y)

Finish it!

The big issues with 80's cars (even my G reg MR2!) are seized up bolts. On many of the nicer cars you'll even struggle to get parts. And the rust!

Last night I consider myself lucky to have only snapped off 2 out of 8 M6 bolts. 1 drilled and tapped out OK, the other will need a tie wrap to hold the front undershield on until I pull off and polybush the front tie rods and can remove the bracket and weld on another nut.

Thanks fingers 99 I do really like the mk1 mr2 good look with those seized up bolts! Got some of them on the rear bumper on the cinq to be sorted!

Well got myself the cinquecento abarth steering wheel of ebay for a bargain price £46 it arrived today and looks really good! So that completes the full abarth kit!! Just need to get them sorted and fitted!(y)

Saw that on the bay, looks nice (y)

Now get it sorted! ;)

I was a bit nervous about getting it because it was at such a low price! I hoped that it would not be withdrawn at the last minute! I put a bid of £100 because it didn't look mint but it had the fitting boss ! So was worth my bid!(y)

Yes it will definitely be getting sorted asap! Just need to convince my better half that this is more important than things for the house!!!
