I do plan to look after it.

Went over 36,000 today. The full plans are just servicing, handling mods, some kind of 106GTI half leather interior and a black sporting dash.

Also want the roof fixing before Summer. It's like passenger side has come off its runners.

Using this daily and can't fault it!

Alternator seized which threw the belt off, which then caused it to overheat. Acted quickly and engine off, waited for it cool and limped it home. Barely got above 105 which is lucky!

New alternator and belt on, also treated it to new ignition leads, spark plugs, grooved discs and new pads. It's purring now.

Polybushed ARB on the way too and have a set of new rear shocks to go on to last until I invest in a spaxx kit :)

Also put full sporting interior in. Just need some sporting door cards and dash now!

You do still need to get up here and check out the new house. Been working on the car for hours today in a nice warm garage!

Bring them up whenever and we'll fit them?

Still not looking forward to rear shocks.. Those lovely upper bolts all seized in and rusted nicely..

May do.

Or I may take this chance to invest in a wrecking bar.

Since Christmas I've invested in spring compressors, rattle gun, impact sockets, compression tester and various other tools.. oh and new house with a decent organised garage!

I need to stop actively looking for jobs which require me to buy more tools.

Rear shocks done a while ago but hasn't cured the elusive knocking sound. I found using my 3/4 socket and half a crutch made for a perfect combo for the upper bolts.

It only happens over the smallest bumps in the road. Old exhaust rubbers? Rear bushes? Or even springs being too low for the shocks?

Like to get it fixed up as maybe selling this bad boy up to throw money at my alfa.

Never selling it now after fixing the roof..!

Well well well, it's misfiring! EML light and occasionally idle bouncing so much it stalls itself. Goes through phases of doing this. I found a tear in the MAP sensor pipe but that hasn't cured it.

It had a slight misfire before when I picked it up, but with no EML. So I've seen a new coilpack for cheap so I'll replace it and see if that changes anything.

If this doesn't work, I've spoken with a few people and I think the best cure for it is to add more 8 more valves - I think this will fix the misfire. Getting everything needed for a 16v conversion being delivered this weekend - then I'm on the hunt for a healthy 1.2 16v engine.

Fun fun fun!

For £10, I'm not fussed - And I will investing in some kit to read codes. Sure it'll be very handy with the 16v.

Plan is do the swap after 3rd May as thats when my 145QV will be back rebuilt and on the road and then I can do the swap without the pressure :slayer:

Well coilpack has restored the idle beautifully, just purrs now.

However this was the reason for poor starting. Pulled off some washer hose off another car and replaced and starts first time, every time and the EML light is out..

..still could with 16v though.
