Had a problem today, induction kit was rubbing on cylinder 4 HT lead and caused it to misfire, so I've replaced all 4 HT leads and a coil pack. This is my solution to stop the rubbing, good old cable ties! ;)

I couldn't agree more gadge! Hopefully I will have an engine in and ready by July! I'm driving to snowdonia and need a bit more oomph.

Yesterday I bought a 1.2 16v bottom end off Cento186 with intensions to use block and pistons on an 8v ready for a turbo!

Anyone know which crank I need to use and if I need the 16v rods aswell as the pistons?

Matt

Things I know:

-8v rods are stronger, 16v rods are lighter. Common sense says stronger is better. But you can't mix n' match as the wrist pins are different sizes between the 8v & 16v pistons.

-16v pistons lower the compression in an 8v, ideal for a turbo.

-I think the cranks are the same (don't quote me on that)

:)

Ok I think I'll use the 16v rods as want a lower compression for the turbo :D
Had a look on the internet and looks like both have same stroke which leads me to believe they are the same crank?

I couldn't agree more tbh, electrics are my downfall :S good job my best mate works as a electrician for JLR :D
