Etypical cento ups and downs. Clutch just gone grrrrr

Think it may be time as gotta come to bits to swap out thr 1.1 for the 1.2 16v

What's the difference between the mk 1 1.2 16v and the mk 2???

Reason I ask is a mate has a damaged mk1 punto sporting and has offered the engine complete for less than 100 quid

My sei is a 2002 schumacher so mpi??

mk1 is better donor for the conversion, get the keys and ecu and loom etc from him too.

Big differences are that Mk1 won't be fly by wire, has slightly different exhaust stud placement and -- if you're lucky -- you might find double valve springs and a lumpier cam.

Its a 98 reg I think. It was pretty quick as well was really surprised compared to the 1.2 8v punto my missis has.

Looks like will be taking him up on his offer then

everything connected to the engine:

inlet, throttle body, exhaust mani with down pipe, starter, alternator. And all the sensors.

These are all useable!

Right just picked my engine up and is all complete. Starter. Alternator. Inlet and throttle body and even exhaust manifold all been left on
All sensors and even pkugs to em still on.
Not a drop of oil anywhere even got a nearly new clutch

Downside is engine loom been all cut up and ecu wrecked been left outside are all mk 1 16v ecu units the same???

Roll on next weekend it all starts

Pretty sure all Mk1 16v are the same.

Brill might have found one at local breakers for 20 quid
