Was driving home an had lack of power sounded like it was firing on 3 cylinders it shortly after died, I did get it started briefly after but had to have accelerator pedal to the floor but just ran like poo, suspect coil packs?

Only reason why I suspect coil pack is cos it's the only thing on the car I haven't replaced lol

it should start ok on one pack and missfire. Keep foot of pedal until it runs. both packs won't fail together

borrow multi meter and test the coolant temperature sender cold and warm in place set multi meter to ohms the value you should get is in guides

then test the resistance of each coil pack same ohm test values somewhere on site or Haynes

borrow is cheap coil packs expensive

could be TDC sensor intermittent but unlikely from your description try doing it the easy way first

Tdc sensor cable had been melted to the manifold, no spark from both coil packs :s

Nah. It's a bugger of a job -- if you don't get the sheilding right you'll have all kinds of weird issues.

I'd fit new, and route it so it can't melt.

yes a repair needs to be same RFI standard and the cable needs to be cleated as Fiat intended it should not be near thr manifold

shoud run over the top of the cam cover but that is missing :S anyone got a spare top part of the cam belt cover?

big Mick eurocarcare Derby by return post.

note the critical cleat should be on the lower cover which big Mick has as well if this has gone AWOL drill a hole for tie wrap

The TDCs don't needs their wiring vibrated

Fingers crossed parts will arrive tomorrow and peril will be back in the game, getting married on Saturday and she needs to be working

tusk tusk

the FIAT cleats are easy to damage if you cut two holes and thread in multi use tie wrap to bottom or top cover it is much more practical. The holes can be drilled with fine bit and opened up to a slot with swiss file to just fit the tie wrap.

have a good time

I think it might be worse than first thought, will be doing compression test next, did have it started but rattled like a bucket of nails, so head might have to come off anyway, should be fun
