I think 4.5k rpm was about 70mph??
The light used to come on between 60-75mph, so I had to travel at less than 60 or more than 75-ish when on a run. An indicated 80mph would be more like a realistic 75mph on these cars.

Some times it would stay on permanently for a while and then flash and go off. It stayed on for days once so I cleared the fault codes.

On my auto 4500 is just wrong side of an indicated 80mph and near to bill in the post in the variable speed regions of the M Way - that can be set as low as 77mph, a mate got done for just over 77... he was not pleased. The rest of office took the hint.
The ECU may be losing closed loop control before 4500 and be unhappy about the loss - hence the light.
I just decided I don't need a higher lift cam.
The light would be on all the time in my auto, when I was in 5th, I live on a Mway junction... almost.

The cameras are only licensed for single lane use, hence one per lane. Keep changing lanes or go inbetween.:)

Mind you, its said that the "average speed" cameras can no longer be defeated like that.
We may never know the real truth because it's classified information...??
When I get really bored, I might remove one to analyse (public property means I own it. Wearing a high viz does not attract attention in this situation :D) and find the frequency to jam it.

The cameras are very active between Hemel Hempstead and Milton Keynes on M1.
