Not that I'm quiet or anything today;

Another of my niggles is the constant rattling from the exhaust on the heat shield under the car - has anyone here removed theirs completely?
Is this a wise idea or doesn't it really matter (I only do 20 miles a day in mine)?
How easy is it to rip off?

Hmmm i kno sum people have.. But i reckoning is its there for a reason.. 20 miles.. Hmmm still room for burnage - up to you - you might have a hell of a lot of gap..

Bend the bugger backwards to stop it rattling..

Ive been running sans centre section heatshield since April 2004, as my Group N rattled against that, but its not much better (the Grp N centre section design is flawed and it hits the bodywork). Ive had no problems from that yet, and I do varying mileages from 5 to 150 miles a day!

Er if you look at the midsection there is a pile of usless w@ank they call a bracket Give Eeee a bosch with the old Universal gentle persuasion tool & should stop..

Is the Group N thing you speak of that stupid spring thing at the intersection between the downpipes and the mid section?

Group N refers to a class in racing and rallying. Group N is the showroom class where things are supposed to be showroom stock specification. A Group N exhaust has to look like the original and follow then exact same route as the original with the same number of boxes. It can, however, be a bit less restrictive than the original.

Hi,
Which heat shield are we talking about, the one on the exhaust or the one on the bodywork(above exhaust).....?

Thanks

Dunno about the number of boxes idea D, cos' the one on mine has one less silencer, and the flexi section is totally different, and hits the bodywork :rolleyes:
