hello I was wondering if anybody knew if there is a difference between a mk1 and a mk2 punto 1.2 16v exhaust manifold.
im away to fit a mk1 punto 1.2 16v engine into my cinq trofeo but cannot find a 421 manifold for the mk1 unit, its all mk2s listed.
Ashley exhausts do a mk2 421 for £200 which is within budget but im unsure if it will fit

Studs are different -- Ithink you can overcome this simply bt drilling a single hole, BUT

They don't. It's been tried. They stick out too far. Supersprint or maybe a butchered 16v manifold.

off topic mate but did u just buy speedlines off the guy on FF?

What finger said about manifold studs.

I thought the 16v didn't go with your replica trofeo look?

I thought your 8v is quicker than a 16v?

You are making 100 bhp ain't you? Why downgrade?

Strange decision there, after the constant claims you been making.

Fingers is correct, the difference is the middle 'top' hole for the manifold studs. On the Mk2 head it is not in alignment with the others.

Universal Flange - There isn't another hole drilled in the top, but the manifold can 'slide' and thus utilise the second set of lower holes

Supersprint do make a mk1 manfiold, part number 153401, but i can only find it on their website, also this one and on a european website.

When Slugworth did his swap he just used an original P85 manifold and has had the rest of the system custom made.

it wasn't me that said I had 100bhp mate ive always said 80 to 90 and yes im gutted to be going 16v due to my car being a replica trofeo but ive had enough of old 8valves that are on there last legs, thats 3 different engines this cars had in 6months.ive been offered a complete 16v package for a very good price so I went for it. as regards to being faster I really couldn't give a damn but im not expecting it to be any faster than my current 8v setup.as long as its up to the job that will do lol

looks like I may have to elongate the stud holes to make it fit my mk1 engine then
dammit
