Just wanted to say hi again to the old and new :)
Its been about 3 since i was last on here.
And after 4yrs and 53000 miles of pretty much faultless driving, with the Cinq only needing parts that have worn out in a 14 year old car.
Only about £180 spent on parts a year.
The MOT is due this month and i knew it would fail on brakes plus a few bits and bods, and thought " maybe its time to give up the old girl "
After a few sleepless nights and feelings of guilt, i have decided to give it one last go.
Out come the spanners again.
Wish me luck. :D

Got all my parts together ready for sunday.
Oil and filter.
Brake fluid.
front pads.
rear shoes.
Rear cylinders
rear handbrake linkages.
Grease for the rear bearings.

Other jobs to do.
Fix washer pump.
Adjust clutch cable.
Retighten alt belt.
Adjust handbrake cable.
Front calipers to free up.
Bolts in exhaust manifold to change and retighten.

:( (y)

All done
Me and a mate cracked on and got all the jobs sorted in 4hrs.
Rear wheel bearings stripped and regreased
Rear shoes replaced.
Handbrake linkage fitted and adjusted to 2 clicks.
Oil and filter change.
Washer pump sorted.
Alternator belt retensioned.
Front discs and calipers cleaned up and refitted.
Front pads changed.
Full brake system bled.
Manifold retightened.
Underbody top rust cleaned and greased up.
MOT booked for next Saturday.

Drove home with a satisfied smile on my face. (y)

Aww.
Little red failed its test.
On the last part of the MOT the drivers side brake line popped.
So its still in and will need a new hard pipe fitted.
It was a pass until then, with the only advisory being front headlights being on the minimum angle for beam. ( too low )
Ebay will have to sort me a couple of headlights.
Are the sporting and 899 Cinq the same type headlight all but the colour?
