i have a seicento 1.1 porting 2000 that had a head gasket replacement.

the car been sitting around for two years before hand.

i replaced the head gasket, thermostat, water pump.

when i run it up and bleed it, it seems to run very hot. the fan kicks in and out when neccessary,

do fiats always run this hot?

i also have very little heat coming through the heater blower. and the hoses that go into the matrix dont seem as hot as the radiator hoses.

im planning on removing the matrix and radiator to clean at work with the high pressure parts washer.

any thoughs on what may be at fault. of any common issues?

Cock and bleeding and probable/possible air leak.

Very hot doesn't get us far, but, then, some penny pincher forgot to put a temperature guage on the Sei.

Re-bleed first. Do the one by the washer reservoir first, then the heater one, with the heater on full hot. Cold should do it, if you like, do the heater one with the car up to temperature.

heater not blowing hot is most likely air lock, so bleed as fingers suggests..

and yes its normal for the fan to kick in often when stationary in these.. its when the fans doesn't come on or doesn't ever stop you need to worry - if its got too hot at any point the warning light will have come on, which i assume it hasn't from your post?

Hi

All off the cock, bleeding, and thermostat need to be good to get a hot heater output.

If repeated bleeding does not work then proprietary flushing compound for mixed metal system is next easiest step. Then replace thermostat, then replace cock, check that cock is on full travel when hot is selected before you buy a replacement, therm or cock, the linkage can be distressed.

My rad fan comes on at red traffic lights or after stopping in motor way queue. The red light should never come on, get to verge ASAP if it does, in neutral if safe...

ok cheers.

what does the overheating warning light look like and where is it. i asumed it would be with the other warning lights with the ignition on, on the dash. but i cant seem to find it.
