Hi..

Now I've got a problem with my heater dial.

It can't be turned all up or all down. Just feels like it has a spring attached behind it..
The air coming out of it is medium warm no matter where I turn the dial.

Is it a known problem? And do any of you have a solution?

It's like a valve on a central heating radiator (but on the heater matrix on Seis).

The control valve (cock) on the side of the heater matrix.

Best bet is probably to remove the whole heater fan/matrix unit. Your best access is through the driver side (assuming left hand drive) carpet like insulation in the engine bay.

Has anyone downloaded the first two parts of this manual recently? I have tried numerous times and they get to about 90% downloaded and then fail...


The heater control cable may also be damaged/kinked..that would account for the "springy" feel would it not?

Have also read numerous recent threads mentioning that the heater matrix and cock can be removed without removing the entire assembly by sliding it out towards the left (after removing the battery and felt)...wish I had known that before replacing mine:bang:

Probably best have a peek from the engine bay side -- under the "carpet" where the heater pipes go into the passenger compartment.

Sounds like you've the odd autumn leaf stuck in the fan. Stuck on hot is likely to be the cock, again.
