Hello FF! First post so here goes...
Well, firstly my alternator recently seized up and so I was told to replace it, I bought a recon one on eBay and went about fitting it myself . During the fitting I forgot to remove the connections from the alternator to the bat and accidently touched a spanner from the positive input on the old alternator to the other contact point on the alternator, causing a lot of sparks!
this all done and the new one fitted my battery is not charging and the battery warning light stays on until I disconnect the small spade purple thin wire from the alternator. I have checked the tension of the belt and
It's tight, any ideas?
I've researched as much as possible , a few ideas
Include a major fuse may have blown, the wiring may be corrupt and also could be a duff alternator again, any ideas / suggestions ?
Cheers!
