hi all,
one exhaust valve had a slight crack so i replaced it in my 1242 8v engine
i used a brand new valve and relapped the valve into the seat...i then filled the combustion chambers with petrol to check for leaks over night...within a few hours the petrol had escaped through new exhaust valve and all other are still full over 24 hours later
is it just because its a new valve and need to be run in?? iv relapped it a few times now and still leaking the petrol through
it is the right valve and the seat is not damaged...with the old slightly cracked valve in it did not leak a drop
cheers
Brin
