I have a fiat sciento and it failed its MOT due to "headlamp aim beam image"

I think that I need to adjust the beams - when I shine the headlights on a brick wall, the light doesn't shine in line - there is at least a bricks difference

I wanted to know how I can solve this problem as I have booked a retest and need it to be fixed so it will pass

The passenger headlight does not move up or down when you change the level setting using the dial on the dash, but the driver side one does. Have tried to get the ball joint on the adjuster into the white plastic claw in the hadlamp but it just wont click in - the plastic claw is not broken it looks all in tact - any tips or ideas? Thanks

sounds like its popped off the adjuster.. You can either open up the headlight and glue it back together, OR, buy another headlight. If you buy one though i'd recommend getting one from a scrap yard yourself so you can check the adjuster still works - last thing you need is for one to arrive in the post no working either.

hi. if the claw bit is not broken, remove the rubber sleave of the main bulb, pull off the inside wall(the shiny bit) towards the engine and get a 13 mm tube spanner(not sure what it´s called) and adjust the little black motor gently to lower light/extend the white bit and pull of the shiny inner light piece until it pops back. then readjust the little motors to the same height. i hope you understood me. good luck.

pretty good explanation - better than alot of english members lol.

I think you mean a 13mm socket..
one of these..?
