So today I finally picked up imola from andys cinq after a trip to london in usual imola style she never missed a beat :)

A few little jobs to do but nothing major I'm going to swap the blue checked interior into imola as the drivers seat seems to have a broken frame at the top, the cambelt tensioner is fairly noisey but andy said he has one handy that I may be able to have if not a new cambelt kit will be done as andys not sure on when it was last done along with a service just to bring everything back to its best

this week will just be driving to and from work maybe ill get the seats sorted sunday but I'm working all day tomorrow :(

I'm pretty tired now so excuse if it seems like I babbling

Hopefully this week at some point she'll have a full wash polish and a wax (gotta love the dodo ;) ) then ill get some pics up for you picture junkies

That's all for now ill update when I'm a little more awake

Cheers guys

Congrats that's a really nice cinq !

I think an ad was placed on here asking for someone to take the car for free as it was no longer wanted, Andy was lucky and managed to grab it first !

Well the first day is up and I'm loving imola,

Tomorrow the work begins :) I'm off to see zippy to steal some bits :) hopefully by tomorrow ill have the 35mm springs out of zippy (correct me if I'm wrong but the sx springs should give me a 55mm drop) the remote central locking kits coming out (coz I'm lazy)and going in imola punto seats are going in imola and a well deserved wash and maybe a polish too :D

Ill get some pics taken and get them all up before the end of the month :D t

I'm thinking about calling up the dent devil (local mobile smart repairs) to have the very small dents removed in the next couple of months too and a refurb on the wheels too :) keep your eyes on the thread guys this is going to be one immaculate little cinq :)

:) patients my friend, it'll be worth the wait :) lol

other little bits on the cards are to have the orange trims resprayed a full interior and exterior valet, I might even get the clay and the rotary polisher out if the missus will let me spend some money, also I have a adjustable upper strut brace lined up for next week so there's plenty going on in the coming months

Also I'm still waiting on some apex shocks that I ordered at the beginning of the month, they too will be going on

Ill see if I can get a couple of pictures on tomorrow just for you blu :)

here goes :D

so today i went to where zippy is being stored with the intention of spending the morning stripping some bits off to put on imola, after removing the punto sporting seats from zippy i started on imola stripping the fronts out as one had a broken frame at the back

unfortunatly there has at some point been a bit of a bodge gone on, not the best either as 5 mins with a drill and a couple of self tappers and it was 'proper bodged' :D
this is what i found after removing the drivers seat and carpet

i plan on cutting it out and welding in a plate once ive got some gas and a regulator for the welder but this is secure for the time being

End result :D

:eek: i thought it was the subframe had a bit of play never thought that had happened but the little movement it had never bothered me but wish it had now but it wont take much to repair.bring imola back down for a trip and i will weld it up mate (y) with proper captive nut inside the box section :D but give her a wash :p

No idea looks like someone got happy with a hack saw lol but it'll get sorted as soon as I've got a few bits for the welder

I'm not sure about the rear tints I think they'll come out and be replaced with a light to med smoke all round and ill get the rear done too but I'm not gonna take them out yet as they don't look too bad from the outside :) at the moment

As for the seats there out of my missus' old mk2 punto active sport
Was a 53 plate I believe there nice and comfy and they hold you in nicely too I'd recommend anyone with a few welding skills to give it a go :)

And andy I have some plans for the cleaning side of things :) hopefully if tomorrows nice ill give her a wash and a bit of autoglym super resin polish to finish untill I get her sent away to be clayed and compounded :)

It kinda looks like it was only ever made out of paint and it has cracked away, and I can't think why anyone would be cutting around there and then leave it in such a mess anyway, most bizarre...

[edit] perhaps a crap attempt to re-fit the seats lower down, is it only that 'corner' cut away?

Yea the drivers seat has the height adjuster on the side I have to modify the passengers seat side plastic though as it won't go on as it is and the height adjuster on the drivers side plastic doesn't go all the way down as it scrubs the sill plastic but it goes doen far enough for me and gives a lovely sporty feel :) definatly worth doing imo and doesn't look out of place either :)

BlueDan I have no idea why anyone would cut the seat mounting points unless they were rotten but there was no rust anywhere around there looks like after a hacking with a hack saw they then beat it with a hammer, who knows ?? I'm just going to put it back to standard as my seats are height adjustable and have been welded onto sei/cinq runners although I've just been offered a set of grey/black subaru seats that might be an idea :)
