I am wanting to run a wire through the bulkhead from battery + to power a twin 12v power socket, one that will be on all the time and not just with the ignition

Where is the best place to run a cable through? dont really want to remove the sound proofing stuff in the 'bay as some of the screws are duff, is there anywhere else?

get a drill bit about 4-6mm and then remove the speedo assy, battery & weather strip then drill fron the cab if you can if not from the engine bay avoid the steering collum so drill the your left then get a friend once your through the metal to push the proofing so it gets drilled aswell i have about 4 holes like this due to the weather strip will be fine, the fag lighter is batt live in the cinq anyway you could piggy back from there and uprate the fuse plenty of 0v in the dash area

I suppose that makes sense if you don't want to use the manufacturer provided grommets.

Hi all, sorry for bringing an old topic back to life.

But I am trying to get some wires through my bulkhead, I've had a couple of cinqs apart down looms and just can't seem to find that grommet, where about is it?

It's for a set of air-horns, got all my wires sorted, and my airline just needs abit of a neaten up, just need to get the wires through.
If only I could borrow some of the holes off my brothers land rover, plenty of rust holes in his bulkhead.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Depending on the model follow the loom by the ecu and wiper motor or use the speedo hole, there is also another way to wire the airhorns, try using the horn line for a relay impulse and use the cig lighter as your 12v for the compressor

look up near where the battery should be.

and then closer..

Or extend the wire from the current horn that way if you tap the button you get the current horn hold to play dixe.

every time i had a horn not work on a cento (a surprisingly large number of times) its just been the wires at horn end all corroded, just cut back to fresh shiny copper and re-attach, shrink wrap it to prevent further water ingress (or at least for as long as possible).

But yeah swap the relays about first before you chop the wires.
