Hi

I decided to buy some led driving lights to put in the gap below the headlights and bumper, however upon further inspection, i cant find any nuts to get the front bumper off (apart from the 2 just inside the bonnet ), any tips? also has anyone else done this and know how to wire them in and have a seperate switch, rather them being on all the time?

For the arch liners there are 3-4 8mm hex head screws holding it on, once you've got the wheel off they're pretty obvious.

In terms of wiring the lights in - have a look in the 'Guides' section under 'Grande Punto' and look for the Fog Light fitting guide, the principle is basically the same.

Wire wise if you want them to work independent from everything else, bar the ignition (so if you forget to turn off, you cant leave them on overnight)....

Guessing their an LED strip with a black & red wire at one end..... Or just two wires...

Fit the light strips and run the cables into the car. Connect one side of the wiring (the red if colored) to the switched ignition (poss from the back of the stereo, as they wont use hardly any current) through a simple rocker switch.. Then earth the other wire... do this by bolting it to a bit of metal work, or track down an earth point in the wiring... I wouldn't earth it at the back of the stereo though, as you don't want the lights to interfere with the audio (electrical noise/whine)...

If the wires are not colour coded, do the above, but test on the battery first which way round the wiring works. They will have resistors in, so should be safe to put in the wrong way round... When you know what works, note the wire that connected to the (+ or red) side of the battery, and use that wire for the switch!

If you want them to work on the sidelights, but then switched, just connect them to your sidelight circuit, but run a long cable into the car for the 12V feed, and bang a switch in to break the circuit.
