Hi folks, our fan has stopped working, have checked the fuse, have also checked supply to the fuse - all ok:confused:

With damp mornings on the way, I'll need the fan soon.

Any suggestions - greatly received.

Cheers

Jon:)

The power connectors are prone to corrosion near the fan itself. Try a little vaseline and a good scrape.

Failing that, either the motor (test with 12v) or the resistor pack (usually green, about the size of a packet of Swan Vestas).

With total failure, I'd suspect the first two.

SPI and MPI units don't appear to be fully interchangeable -- at least, not to a quick glance.

These motors don't get serviced, ie, oiled, So start to run slow and will seize up.
Because it's a bit of a job getting to the motor, I would suggest having a spare good one at hand any way and change it.
A few drops of 3 in 1 oil on the shaft wicks will give longer life.

Great stuff here folks, seemed to wok well, then nothing..

Anyone able to point me towards the motor and connectors??

Cheers

They're under the "carpet" stuff in the engine compartment, passenger side. Just remove that and you'll see it in all it's glory.

There will be a diagram -- maybe evebn a trouble shooting guide -- in the Seicento Technical Manual in the downloads library, here.

Thanks again!

Cheers

Jon
