My cinq has a problem with the pump

the car started then cut out as i was driving so out came the aa as im not mechanical they say its the fuel pump the mecanic ordered a new one but the two that he ordered were both the wrong ones the hose comes from the side with mine and neither of them did so he somehow got the old one working and its going fine till yesterday a whole three days, and the same thing happened so no one can get one till tuesday best wednesday fiat parts say they are discontinued :bang:

ive been getting 50-60 mpg and no other problems

not sure what to do? or if i can get the right one
does anyone have a pump of where i can get one ?

please help

The pumps are not known for failing very often, not saying yours hasn't, but I wouldn't trust an AA man to diagnose it correctly.

Fluffy will be able to get you one if you really need it.

thats what i thought but he checked the relays and fuses and there is electricity gettin through but no motor or sound and the garage said it was the pump because he had to tap it a couple of times before he could get it to work on an external battery

do the 1993 cinqs have different pumps are they available? generally and how much for fluffy to get one?

AFAIK all SPi centos use the same pumps, and you had better ask fluffy the price. Last time I asked it was over £100 because they don't fail.

sorry its still in the car i havent taken it out but have seen what it looks like any chance you can pm me pics of yours?

rallycinq if its not the pump what could it be?

Crank sensor would be my first guess, but its only a guess.

beyond that I'd be looking at the connector on the pump housing.

Its just that I don't trust AA men to do the correct job, seen them make far too many mistakes.

does the 1993 cinq k reg (june) have a different shaped fuel pump to any other model - year etc

or was the mecanic feeding me a line?
