Hi, was wondering if anyone can help me. My W Reg Sceicento went for its MOT the other day and I was told I need a new fuel tank as mine has corroded and is leaking fuel.

I googled new fuel tanks for Sceicento and found an old post on here that mentioned a recall so I checked the FAQs and my VIN isn't included in this. Would it still be worth contacting a Fiat dealer to see if I can qualify for the recall?

Yes but dont get too excited in the thought of a free replacement

It has been 12+ years since the recall and also wear and tear will now start to play a part

There is also the possibility it has been done under recall once before and thats why your VIN is not showing

Dont despair, the tanks arent that dear off ebay for a brand new one, and even cheaper if you go for a good condition salvage unit

I highly doubt fiat will touch it now its 11 years old.. No harm in trying though

FIAT kinda did mine, they paid for a new tank and I paid for fitting at a local dealer which was around two quid more than buying a tank off eBay at the time.

No harm in trying them.
