Afternoon,

Can anyone advise whether the ECU needs the electronic speedo sensor in order to work properly? I'm using a Mk2 Punto 1.2 and want to keep the cable speedo but I have a feeling the ECU requires speed sensor. I want to just swap it for a worm drive thingy from a Cinq.. Can anyone advise?

shouldnt need it..

completely seperate from the ecu. just swap the worm. you could always use a punto 75 ecu to run the mpi 1.2 that will ignore the need for the airbags ect. as the mk2 ecu monitors LOADS of useless crap inside the car like airbags and bulbs out.

Excellent, thanks guys. The ECU can monitor whatever it likes provided it doesn't put it into limp mode when it discovers no bulbs or airbags!
