hey folks just looking for a little advice on an engine swap for a seicento, know the 1242 8v out of a punto slots straight in but does the 1.6 8v out of the punto go straight in or does a 1400 8v exist that would go in easily and offer good performance, any help appreciated thanks

what motors do the 1400 8v's come out of, still on a major learning course with fiats lol so any and all information is greatly appreciated

thanks

i'd recomend for ease and power the 1242 16v conversion frome a mk1 punto sporting or brava/o is the best bet, i have a mk1 sporting 1242 16v and it really shifts so stink this lump in a cento will really be something good with the right tuning it would be an animal as 120bhp N/A is available with the right mods and head work

The similar/same result has been acheived my j33evo, and kritip aswell.

How is the 1.4 16v become a common swap?

I only know of 3 seicento's that have one fitted, and about 5 cinq's. The engines alone are very hard to track down for a fair price.

The 1.2 16v conversion has been done so much lately, that it's hardly worth talking about anymore :D.

Over in poland the 1.2 and 1.4 16v and 8v engines are done to almost every other cinq/sei, it's very common over there.

Thanks

I still wouldn't consider 5 common, in all fairness.

Poland don't tend to use the 8v engines unless it's a turbo apllication, but over there reliability is key due to their currency.

They prefer the 16v engines, reliability mixed with higher standard output, aswell as some tasty bragging rights.

But they know how to build a nice cento, whereas we are still learning that.

They also have alot more aftermarket businesses that specialize in modifying the fiat engines, for example a pair of race cams is only £300 and have the same profiling and materials as the C&B ones. Strongflex makes the bushes for the cars. MTS make coilover suspension. Have a much wider rang of 13 inch and 14 inch alloys than over here due to germany only being round the corner. They hold the biggest cento only event in the world.

Thanks

:D No, they mostly repair whats damaged (depeninding on the damage) rather than replace.

Some of them have even gone to the extreme of spray painting the entire shell in their own garage. But then their garages are good enough to consider as a spray booth, as they are more than big enough :D.

They are a very hands on country, something we are lacking now a days (n).

Thanks

wouldnt an 8v conversion be the easier option than changing from 8v to 16v? appreciating all the help and advice here, had a lot of problems with the 1108 so just wanting that out and something better put back in, hopefully with a bit more beans :D
