Hi im just wondering will an early model cinq ecu with no immobiliser such as the 6F.S0 work on a later model 16F.E0 with immobiliser function if i switch them directly? My immobiliser is playing up and i want to bypass it. The engine is 899cc. If not, is there any other way around the immobiliser?

Where can i get a replacement chip? I dont mind a bit of soldering im an electronic engineer. I dont hav a duplicate at all. Im thinking its the immo cause the battery died during the cold weather and i charged it up it wudnt start. It was working fine up to then. No probs at all. The code light is on along with the fuel injector warning light.

I hav borrowed another battery brand new and no luck. I cant see what else it could be it just seems too much of a coincidence that something else should stop working when the battery dies. Im fairly sure the ecu/immo is the problem

Yes RC it cuts the fuel and spark. The starter motor is turning over no probs but no spark. I can't find the same ECU with the immobiliser and box with keys anywhere. So I have bought the 6F.S0 ECU set off ebay which includes the ignition, locks and key. Im hoping it will work but if it doesnt im back to square one. Any other ideas on what might be the problem ayone?

The cables are fine. I don't have the red key unfortunately. There would be no problem if i had. Ill see how I get on with the new ECU. Even though its a different type im hoping it will work. If anyone has any information on whether it will work please let me know. Thanks.

Have you any idea who might have an uncoded ECU of this type. Also how much am I looking at? Again thanks for your time.

Unsure of whar gazzaman2k was doing the chips for (or even if he has the data for an 899 one) but they ere retty damn cheap -- PM him, he's one of the good guys.

I'd not exect an ECU to go for much (no call for them) but it's finding one as most of the donors will have been turned into tin cans by now. Do put somethin in the parts wanted section over to the right. It's free!
