ok this is not a thread to ask questions its a thread to say how i did it so there is one place for all the anwsers for someone else

ok once i had the 1108mpi block out i set about getting the 1242mpi ready to fit, we had decided to go with the seicento micro ecu and loom along with the seicento inlet and TB rather than fitting the P75 ecu loom and TB/inlet

first off because we used the sei mpi ecu we needed to swap the pully's over (cam crank and waterpump) which meant because the 1242 is a slightly taller block the belt was too short so a mk2 punto 1.2 8v belt (8.0mm pitch and 15mm wide) had to be bought and fitted, a problem i came across when doing this was the cam pull has an extra bit on the back of it for the sensor to get its reading, that would be fine apart from a small lip of metal that sticks out of the head that it catches on, out came the angle grinder and the problem is solved, now when removing the crank pully make sure that you lock the flywheel as the locating pin on the crank is very weak and can be snapped when removing or refitting, when you re-fit the crank pully make sure you torque it down to 74lbs-ft, and when you torque the cam pully on make sure thats to 51lbs-ft, also we decided to use the flywheel that had been fitted to the 1108 (lightened and balanced) again when refitting it torque to 33lbs-ft, so now to fit and it will slot in nice and easy everything lines up easy enough and its fitted, now to wire and plumb it up, you will need to swap the water pipe that runs across the front of the block as on the P75 it has a 90deg bend on the end and the sei cooland hose is designed for a 45deg bend, not a major prob but would have been easier to do when the block was out, also there is a knock sensor on the back of the 1108 block and the P75 doesn't normally but there is an un-used bolt hole on the back of the block under the start that it will reach to with out extending the wires, ok so the inlet is on now to fit the injectors, now you would think to use the P75 ones as its a bigger engine so you would think bigger injectors, WRONG!!!, the P75 injectors for a kick off wont fit into the inlet as physically they are too big but they are cc rated smaller than the sei mpi ones anyway (sei are 155cc P75 are 140cc iirc) but what i can remember is that the P75 injectors are rated for max 85bhp where as the sei ones are good for 95bhp, so we decided to go with the stock sei 155cc injectors and fuel rail 1 cos they fit and 2 they have a better rating, ok so now its all together now to sort the exhaust side of things and as the 1108 was fitted with a supersprint 4-2-1 we thought we would stick with that, got it fitted to the head, slid under the car to connect it to the system and oh great its fluxh against the drive shaft, thats because the block is taller, not too worry, i removed the SS mani and got out my trusty blow lamp and a trolly jack and with some careful measuring and lots of heat i managed to ease the pipe down the inch or so needed to clean the boot, re-fitted to the car and hay presto it clears, so its now all fitted and ready to fire up, now providing everything is tight (learn form my mistakes) it should fire but it may run badly on tick over as the ecu will be abit confused (or at least its what we have put the idle probs down to as the ecu has been disconnected from power for 4 days and is now getting different readings to what it was before)

ths is a very basic guild but it contains some info that my friend (owner of the car) had to do some digging on here to find and i thought it would help to put it all in one place

if you do decided to do this conversion and need some advise drop me a pm and i will help where i can, i also did the P75 conversion on my cinq 1108spi so i will also help if advise is needed

my biggest piece of advise is always double check you have tightened everything down to the right settings lol

Crank Pully 74lbs-ft
Flywheel 33lbs-ft
Cam Pully 51lbs-ft
Head Bolts 22lbs-ft
Timing Belt pitch-8.00mm width 15mm off a 2000> punto mk2

i'm sure i have missed something but i will and as i remember things lol

this conversion was done in 4 days but was running after 2 (from running 1108 to running 1242) but i would recommened leaving 3 days, if you know what your doing could be done in a day but i would say 2 to be safe

Dont bother its not going to gain you anything going mpi other then hassle as the ecu is not as good as the spi.

if you REALLY want a 75 engine in a spi car then view my very old blog post here https://www.fiatforum.com/blogs/craigb244/394-start.html

go down the page a bit and see how to shape the 75throttle body to run on spi and even how to fit the spi manifold onto the mpi head :)

Did you use the MPI inlet manifold on the P75 head?
When i did it the bolt holes lined up but the ports were different sizes so I ended up using the 1108 MPI head

temperarly we are using the sei mpi inlet as after the new year i am going to set about making a custom inlet with 44mm side draft TB and it will be port matched to the spare head i have for it, the other way you could get around it would be to just port match the head to match the sei mpi inlet

Sorry for bringing up this post again. In the end what happend? Your car has still this setup? p75 block+head and all the others stock?Do you use a bigger throttle body now? I have the same problem with you having the tiny ecu and not be able to reprogramm.
