Technical Sei Sporting Fuel Pump Relay

Hi don't know if anyone can help here. but here goes.
Basically the relay for the fuel pump has stopped working on my Sei Sporting (MPI), anyone know if it's an accesiblle part or not?? when I put the igntion on, there is a really annoying clicking coming from behind the Dashboard at the passenger side, but the clicking stops when I start the Sei.

So at the moment I have to watch my milage, as I don't relly want to run out of fuel, but I know that the Sei will do 300miles on 1 tank of fuel.
Doesn't last though, doing 24miles a day, 5days a week, then maybee going out at the weekends I'm filling up once every week. £1,924 in fuel alone in a year (n):bang:.

Any help/ answers are appriciated. Talk about FixItAgainTomorrow

silly tihng but when its clicking why dont you just track it down? have you checked all the fuses?

it was working before you swapped the fuel tank so mabee take the pump back off the tank and then re-install just to makesure you havent trapped the float or anything like that.

Yes Checked EVERY Fuse in the tray, no difference.
Blair & I have had the pump out, (few days after you & Ming came over), he thinks it's the little circuit board thing on the pump, that has got damaged somehow and stopped lifting the float, as when we had the power for the pump connected and he lifted the float the gauge worked.

Aye it all worked before the *Cough* 'incident' *Cough* happened. need to get that sorted before anything else can be done on the Cento Steve.

its called a float for a reason andi.......it floats are you sure your putting it in right so it has free movement inside the tank?

Aye, it can only go in 1 way Steve.
Float float's, but doesn't lift when you put the igntion on, so rather than hearing a hum from the tank, you hear a clicking from behind the dash at the passenger side.:confused:

yeh id say the float arm is slightly bent so its not rising correctly.

your forgetting to say though your dial doesnt just sit at 0 it rises on ignition hits a cetrain spot then drops back down to nothing. so it might be something else.

so your saying it defo works if you manually raise the float?? if so then you just need to figure out why it aint rising

if the relay is clicking then the relay is(should be) fine. as said it has no bearing on the fuel guage.

if its clicking alot it may well be an exposed wire or earth issue, had that problem on another sei and it turned out it was an exposed wire running to the crank sensor that was making the relays go haywire,

if the float isnt going up automaticaly but works manualy, its lost bouyancy, almost certainly a hole.
