I like the matte orange top (instead of gloss), looks nice :)

Also what did you do with the manifold, mine is solid but looks manky.
Same so i cleaned the maifold, wire brush job (y) got all the dust and rust off then sprayed it matt black with this high temp paint from hafords

smoother the better exhaust to stop carbon build ups and to clear the engine quicker.

inlett you want it to be rough but larger to mix up the fuel propperly for increased burn. a mirrored inlett wont mix the fuel.

~wanders of to play with the dremil~

Looks good

I notice on your window sill what looks to be an FAI gasket set, I used to swear by them with fords etc, but when I put one on my cento it rotted away in about 12 months and I had to do the job again [everything else in kit is good though]

The place that did my skim supplied me with an Elring head gasket, far better quality and the gasket was only about £8 which was similar in price to a lone FAI item.

finished the job week ago
put the pis up anyway :)

I agree that FAI gaskets not up to much, I changed one last new year, and it needed doing again last month. Victor Reinz kit was sweet, with all gaskets and cam seal valve seals the lot. Had to get the bolts seperate but good quality.

The inlets need to be a bit rougher, Guy Croft recommends using an 80 grit finish. The texture traps air. Air travels faster over air than it does a metal surface, no matter how shiny.

Don't port match the exhaust side. Use an old gasket (or a bit of cardboard) on the inlets so you get no ridges at the join. Some good (but general) ideas on porting in the A. Graham Bell Tuning 4 Strokes book. Or sign up to the Guy Croft site (or oldschool's site) and ask them.
