Hey People,

I have been a bit busy of late and done a few things to my cinq, it all started with me getting my hands on a spare cam cover. So I decided to clean it up and get it powder coated, I took it to a place recommend by Tosh and Brain (cheers

) and the fella was more than happy to do it for me. It turned out great and I have now managed to get it fitted as well.

Next I managed to spot an auction on eBay that was for the full interior from a Seicento Mark 2. The fella who was breaking the car had spelt Seicento wrong and I was hoping that I might be able to win the auction without breaking the bank. A few days later after I spotted the auction on the FF I seen that Liam had posted the same auction up, I thought that I would not win the auction as someone would bid higher. Anyway I decided to go for and I put a bid in close to the end and I ended up winning the auction for £51, yes that’s £51. I was over the moon with it. So me and Brian decided to travel down a few days later collect it all in my car, we packed the back of my car up with all the stuff I had requested from the fella. Here is the link for proof as well (showing off now :p).

Anyways I have managed to fit the seats now, see pictures below, and I am really happy with. They need a little clean up when I got them home but nothing major, I have found that they do sit a little higher than the cinq seats, but I quickly got used to that. All the bolt holes are already in the cinq, they are just covered up with a black plastic blanking plug. The only thing I had to do to fit the seats was drill two holes (one per bracket) for the brackets that go at the top of rear backrest that the seats click into.

The next thing I decided to buy was a new headunit, as with fitting the new seats it meant that I would be losing my CD changer. So I bought a Kenwood KDC-W8027 that supports mp3s, it is now full wired up and running really really nice with my Infinity 6X9s. When I got it fitted I found that the standard cinq front speakers could not cope with the power it was putting out, so I bought some new Infinity 4002i 10cm speakers and they sound great. :D (pictures of these will follow when I get the grills sorted for them).

please please please please loose the standard airbox! i refitted one to mine for the MOT, drove it with it on for a while and it has scratched my painted cam cover. Don't want it happening to a powder coated one

I will soon enough, i can not decide on what induction kit I want though. It shold cause any damage to the powder coating though.

there is a metal clip on the base of it, thats what did the damage on mine. Might wanna dampen it with something just to be sure

Oh i know what u mean, I pulled that off. Also cut off and filed down the bit it clipped onto the cam cover. If you look on the 1st picture you can not see any bits of the metal clip or the bit on the cam cover where its meant to go.

:D

how much it set you back to get the rocker powder coated? :p

£25 quid but i got a few small holes fill and sand blasted before powder coating. I know Brian paid just for the powder coating so it might be a good idea to ask him how much it was for just that.

Your motor looks fantastic. Made a really smart job of it.

What camera are you using? Takes ace pics!

I am using an "Olympus C-350 ZOOM", those pictures are the ones I resized in Photoshop for use on the web as well. The originals I took are about 600K in size each.

Finally!!!!

Loving the seats, sorry about posting the auction up but you got them so no harm done. How is rear visibility with the headrests? Pete, you can comment too.

Loving the allen bolts for the cam cover, am I the only one to spot those?

I got my cam cover powder coated the same time as getting my modified inlet manifold (to fit my Punto 75 TB) blasted and it total it cost me £30, so I should imagine that the cost of getting the Cam Cover powder coated was the same price as Dave paid (£25).

However as well as removing the front clip and also removed the two slots on the back of the Cam Cover (the ones that normal take the plug lead spacer), to make it super smooth, I also smoothed the top surface of my Cam Cover so that there was no need for any filling to be done.

Over the next week or so I'm changing the oil, as well as the coolant, fitting the Punto 75 TB and fitting my new Cam Cover, so I'll also have photo's shortly. Stay tuned to see them.

Brian

P.S. The Allen bolts that are holding the Cam Cover down I got from Ebay and their stainless steel so will look great for ages.

Fine to be honest, can still see loads out of the rear window when reversing, not a problem when looking in the rear view mirror.

The allen bolts also have some cup washers round them as well, I got these from Demon Tweeks. Just adds that little extra touch :D
