Tuning punto 75 camshaft (866 FIRE)

On the 1108 and 1242 8v engines the valve clearances are set by shims.

If you can get hold of a manual for a Cinq, Sei or Punto of the period, it'll be explained.

At least one person fitting the 866 cam to an MPI Sei has reported the EML light -- code read will give some clue as to why the ECU is unhappy.

I tried to read the code from the obd2 scanner but it didnt keep the problem in memory because the engine light was flashing when driving and not always..

I've found when my exhaust manifold was blowing the engine light would flash ocassionally (emissions parameters or something) however it would always save the code even if it just flashed up rather than stayed lit.

Have you tried a different OBD2 reader as the code should be there?

No i didn't they told me that the reason the light flashes on is the lack of ecu remap.. And the cost is 300euro plus150 on dyno. I think it's too much for a 866 cam installation only and i can't even afford it. Should i believe theem?

Sounds like 'they' don't know what they're talking about, total stab in the dark
