Hiya, right some may know I've had some starting/ignition problems with the cinqy sporting lately. I've had the aa out twice, the first time he put it down to my ford transit key being on the same keyring as the fiats!! The second time (this morning) the aa guy was much more helpful, in fact after the car had actually started he still stayed to find the intermitent problem.

Anyway it turns out that its 99% lightly its the little white main relay box on the right hand side under the bonnet. As the cinq turned over attempting to start the aa bloke whacked this relay a couple of times and the engine would jump into life. We tried this about 20 times so I think I can safely say the problem is that, I hope!

So my question is this.....How much is a main relay, where is best to get one, should I bother with a breakers one, and could it still be something else causing problems as well as the main relay???

Oh and by the way this aa bloke knew all about cinq clutch cables and asked where my spare one was!!

Yes definately get one from a scrappy if you can. I take it he checked the connections into it and out of it. It wont be expensive at all from a scrappy and at least you can rule it out if it doesnt work.

Well the local scrappy didnt have any chinks, had I known it was the same relay for punto's and seicentos I might have found one! :bang:
