could someone post up a link to a build thread of sticking a 1242 fire engine in?

do all the mounts line up/driveshafts etc?
what are the biggest brakes i can fit on it that go under 13" wheels?
are there any problems i need to overcome when fitting a fire engine?

cheers guys.

thanks guys!

im starting from a spi engine and want to convert to mpi, would it be easier to get a cinq sporting and are they mpi?

also what are the hardest parts of converting to 16v? are they x-flow heads? does the inlet point towards the front or the back of the bay?

cinqs are spi only. later sei's are mpi. but conversions arnt that hard. there is a thread just below yours about converting to 16v wiring. inlets point towards the car and exhaust towards the front.

what about the 1.4 16v? would that engine be too heavy and upset the handling/balance? can i use the 6 speed gearbox and driveshafts?

I remember kritip saying to me the other day that it was great to drive, so i'm guessing handling wasn't too badly effected at all.

The engines themselves are the same cylinder casting, just with bigger bores and slightly tampered water ways.

The heads is where it seems to change most, (obviously 16v = slightly bigger head) and that is where some of the extra weight comes from. Quite light engines though as I could happily carry my complete (minus gearbag) 1.2 8v around the garage.

Thanks
