re: slow build 16v cinq

looks really nice but not the best for in Britain with all these speed bumps and pot holes

i would kick myself ive i was ever to buckle or kerb one of those alloys

a 70/50 kit on 14" wheels should have enough clearance to keep me happy

re: slow build 16v cinq

yeh hijack lol. his looks a tad lower. yeh his wheels are definatly not as far in as mine at the front (defo are at the back low as f***:p) sure there 14"?

re: slow build 16v cinq

will be able to test fit the engine soon only a few niggle things hindering me

1st small and easy thing to do was gearbox had two locators for one hole so pulled one out and that's done

bolt in gearbox snapped for n/s mount does not want to come out, worst case change the case

see the problem there ?

ive got that selector on the wrong way so when its the correct way clutch piston is in the way so will have to make up a higher bracket to clear

missing a plate here to take the sporting mount as the 899 is different

DSC01043.jpg

how it was tonight ready to be moved out of the garage to go under the car

flywheel is off with brooky

also car filled up with water under the floor pan:eek:

re: slow build 16v cinq

there are loads of different mounds you can use. front mount from a cinq, side from a sei. and bannana style side from a sei sporting V reg onwards.

re: slow build 16v cinq

got the plate from the scrappy today for free :slayer:

did notice the sei sporting has M10 bolts for this to the chassis where the s Cinq has M8, so that's useful to note

started to rain as soon as the engine came out of the garage

plenty of clearance to the strut brace
DSC01046.jpg

clutch cylinder held in place, should be enough clearance here

didn't realise how far forward the engine sits either, very minor job to sort

re: slow build 16v cinq

Looking good, especially all the new shiny bolts. :p Is that the custom brace? Any problems shutting bonnet?

Looks like the sparco brace.

Everything is starting to come together now (y).

Doing your brakelines next?

Thanks

X

not sure which one it is but i got it off mariocinq and he modified it to fit around the P75

got all the brake lines done (need putting on car) also just need to pick up front brakes from somewhere, along with rebuilding the rears

re: slow build 16v cinq

tiny update

flywheel is down to 4.65KG :slayer: im happy with that Thanks Tom(y)

got a new Master cylinder as i didn't store the old one correctly and now not happy with how it feels

also got a re-con starter as it was going

all of the internal sound proofing of the floor is out just need to clean half of it up with white spirits, used and angle grinder with wire brush to get some bits off, big mistake made one hell of a mess :S

engine coolant hoses, 240 vented set-up on the front from Steven soon to be on its way(y)

decided as im getting less time to work on the car im going to try and get the engine running in around 2 months as a milestone to motivate me in this weather

so to get the engine going i need to;
.re-do all fuel lines
.source punto sporting ECU and bits to run the engine
.install and repair sporting loom
.put on fuel tank and pump
.fit flywheel and clucth
.put some temp exhaust together just to fire it up
sure im missing something

need to get a full set of 14" steel's never would of thought id find them hard to get my hands on so i can take the car off stands and have the brakes

lets see if i can do it in time

re: slow build 16v cinq

got some more bits done but weather is slowing body work down

.SS manifold came up on ebay so snapped that up
.going to run full flexi fuel pipes - on its way
.one of the rear callipers put back together - easier then i expected but fiddly
.fuel pump should be on its way down to me soon
.flywheel arrived :) gave it a clean and degreased

re: slow build 16v cinq

with this its just 1 step forwards and 2 steps back so going ot have a long break from this for a while

on my 3rd gearbox, recon starter i bought for a 1.1 is for a 899, fuel pump was thrown away
