i'm fed up with my R2 headlights (even though they are fitted with halogen bulbs with an R2 fitting)

If I get sporting headlights , do they need to be fitted with the remote adjusters?

basically I need just the headlights and the lamp fittings right?

This side of the North Sea we know these as R2 bulbs as P45T bulbs.

I don't think they were ever fitted to RHD Cinqs. Even the early ones I have had have been fitted with H4s.

P45Ts tend to be fitted to pre 1980 cars.

will H4 ones fit/work without the internal adjustment knob?

Should be fine -- remember, many were sold without the in cockpit adjuster (and many which originally had the in cockpit adjuster have had it removed either to save space -- turbos are cramped! -- or simply because the ones without remote adjustment are easier to get hold of).
