(n) Splitfires are complete crap! I have heard stories of electrodes breaking off.& taking out engines.Cheaply made gimmicks IMHO.
The point of Iridium plugs is to reduce the voltage load that it takes to fire them.Thats why they have a very small electrode diameter .4mm on Denso plugs.According to their blurb they take 5000.0 less volts to fire than a platinum plug. They are fitted as standard equipment on some performance cars. They show before & after dynographs on there website to show the difference. They are shown to make most difference on turbo cars. But show improvements on normally aspirated engines as well. They also have a good service life, typically 30.000miles.NGK Iridiums offer a greater service life up to 100.000k because of a larger electrode area, but don't offer much of a performance advantage over standard plugs.Except for long service life.I have Densos on my Sei,& it's deffo smoother & more responsive.I wouldn't fit ****fires,if they where given too me.

The main reason I fitted them is that I don't like buying plugs every 6k,I would rather fit a good set & not have to do it again for 30k.Kinda works out cheaper to pay circa .£45.0 every other year than, £20.0 on std plugs every year,or 6k.Without having a dyno to hand it's hard to check for any physical difference? But I am happy with the way my car performs. It runs very cleanly. It's a good sign of quality, when manufacturers fit them as std.See how many car makers fit splitfires as std?
Steve.

Yeah if your happy with them then fair enough!

I'm currently runnin NGK which are def better than my last set of Champion's but think they have also been knackered since i got the car tbh......

Splitfires are like the Bosch Super 4's really.

The Denso plugs are used in alot of Turbo cars and have started to get used in modded cars with turbos and NOS as high temp's melt the standard spark plugs.

I'm awaiting a set and will post my findings but like Guzzi I doubt there will be a difference.
