Bit of a long shot, but someone on here may have an idea....

Basically ive sorted out my gears (had to remake the whole linkage)

and now im left with the last engine problem...

The car idles fine, no problems, and doesnt overfuel idling.
When i rev the car, it seems to die, then pick up with the rev.
It does this every time i rev the car.

Does anyone have any ideas?

(persoanally thinking that the fuel pump is not up to the job, kind of a mixture problem.. but i think im running a corsa GSI one.)

The fuel rail is the 3.0 bar one, with matched reg and injectors.... so could there be a lack of fuel at the beginning of the rev?

I have a vectra v6 pump i might fit to rule that out, but other than that im stumped....

I need the car drivable for trax, so if anyone has any ideas what it could be, no matter how silly il check it tomorrow.

Changed ecu, maf, new CTS, new Loom (non lambda), New sparks, Dizzy Cap, Crank Sensor, Dizzy Arm.

C20XE Early engine (dizzy + Coil)

Is a Corsa GSI pump rated to 3 Bar? Definately sounds fuel related.
All gaskets fit correctly and no air leaks?
Air leak or fuelling prob by sound of it, get some brake cleaner/wd 40 spray round all joins and ensure you have no air leaks

Not sure what bar the corsa pump is, but was told it should run the engine.
Il try the wd40 tomorrow...

Could a dodgy coil be the problem?

dodgey coils could be the culpret. Maybe even the dizzy? Can you do a night test looking for sparks etc coming from the dizzy?

Thanks

Could do but i dont think the neighbours would appreciate it lol.
There are a few things im going to try in the morning to see if i can sort it out.
Its only got the one coil

Anyone know th best (quickest) way to drop the fuel from the fuel tank?

Bloody thing is full of gritty crap, so thinking this could be the problem as we are using a high pressure pump thats sucking it all up.

Its an SPI tank if it makes any difference.. cheers :D

bit gay.. doest look like there is a drain plug :S

Take it the fuel needs syphoning out (sorry for the dodgy spelling... been up since 7am working on the car haha)

You still using the orginial fuel filter? Just undo one end and catch it all. Really should change the fuel filter as well!! (if it is the original)

Ming

No im using a massive unknown but new metal one lol.

Drove the car down to vauxhall today and its horrible lol.. gears are wicked on a plus side haha, but i have to drive the car stupidly slow, and basically change up the gears as fast as possible to stop it doin a kangaroo dance.
Picked up some vauxhall spark plugs to give them a go and see if that cures it...

it does sound like a fuel issue, if you build the revs slowly does it still do it? just to test, try disconnecting the throttle posistion sensor and then rev it.

when you rev a car it needs more fuel instantly, i know on MS this is handled by an acceleration pulse, and it is calculated using data from the TPS.

Going to pop out and try this now.

Still does it when building up the revs slowly..

The problem is still there, so far ive changed the fuel pump, ecu, maf, plus.

Still no closer to running right. Ive tried spraying everything with wd40 and no change in revs at all.

The car on the drive idles brilliantly and now seems to rev fine (might be because its warm)...

But as soon as the car is under load, it kangaroo's all over the place.

Popping outside to test the TPS, and il get back to you..

Right, ive just started up the car, and it idled fine...

Removed the TPS plug, and revved as advised and it revved fine... then went back to idle as it normally should...

Is it correct in doing that or is there something wrong with my TPS sensor then lol

Sounds like a faulty tps or a fault with the wiring, not sure on the vauxhall engine but with fiat sensors there is a 5v reference fed to it, if that or the ground wire is poor it'll act up. If you are careful you can drive without it if it is revving fine without it

Edit. Wait, it only acts up under load? Test it with no tps under load. If it still does it then it must be fuel supply.

Right, off for a go round the block :p

either the sensor, or its wiring is at fault. I'm not sure on how they are wired, but like i say - if the FIAT one doesn't get its 5v reference voltage then it goes a bit screwy.

It is (imo) safe to drive it with no TPS so long as you don't make any massive movements on the throttle. It shouldn't need the TPS to do anything apart from accelerate, so as long as that is done gradually - it'll be fine to get to trax.

Wicked, really appreciate your help as i think you have solved my problems... Just got off the phone and im looking at £29+vat to £61 for a replacement... luckily the cheaper one is in stock (bosch) so il go and grab one... :D

Il try it, if it faults, then like you say i can only assume its the wiring...

Another big thanks!

ah tits.... 10 miles later and its doing the same thing... But as soon as the wiring is unpluged it runs fine... so il be running it like that to trax tomorrow haha...

Need to find out whats goin on with it lol
