The radiator fan doesn't come on even when the header tank is overflowing with boiling water. I've checked all the pipes including those to the heater (which blows hot) and all are hot so I think that rules out the thermostat. I've replaced the 30 amp fuse behind the battery so I now get a voltage reading on one of the contacts in the plug that goes into the switch(green) on the radiator. Should I get a reading in both? I also did the paperclip test across the plug contacts which glowed red. I've swapped a relay from the fuse box with the one on the ecu and checked the 7.5 amp fuse for that. The only other thing I can think of is the fan motor might be broken. I've read that you can test this by use of a side contact? Where is it? A picture would be good. Any other suggestions?

Cheers.

If you remove the plug from the temperature sender/switch in the radiator and short the contacts the fan should run

If it does not and you stil have 12v, then

the fan is kaput
or the earth strap is not earthing

wire brush earth strap bonding point cover with copperslip grease and remake fastner.

NOooo reread your post if the short glows red hot your fan is kaput, the fan should be spinning and the short should be warm.

P.S. if you use the car before you fix the rad fan, please turn on the heater to max hot and run the heater fan at max boost, regrinding a head flat is not much fun, shower more often...

OK, I'll try the earth strap first but a new fan is probably on the cards. Cheers guys - thanks for the help!
