Hi Guys,
In march I bought a MOT failure yellow cinq sporting with many faults very very cheap to use as a runaround to keep the miles off my evo 6. First things first I fixed the faults. However I soon caught the bug and fitted a 1242 engine with a 866 cam open cone filter and a custom backbox. Then a couple of months ago I thought i'd clean it out so set about removing the seats to shampoo the carpets. However while unbolting the rear seats and belts the plate behind the panel came out with the bolt, RUST! leaving a hole the size of a fist! I admit I was tempted to scrap it but I havn't had a project for a while so I set about stripping the car completely and finding all the rot. It was everywhere. along the seams, in the boot floor and inside the arches. So I got some 1mm steel and welded them all up and gave underneath a damn good coating of underseal. Then I set about filling all the dents. After that I decided that I wasn't very keen on the yellow so I primered it and sprayed it white indside out. Here's the result, all that is left to do is to spray the wheels but i'm undecided on a colour. Not bad for a car restored in a gazebo in my back garden.
